Need help with my solonoid. (and spelling!)
The gear spins when I hit the starter, but it won't kick out to engage the flex plate. Do I need a new one, or can they be worked on?
P.S. - Just found this site, love it! Thanks in advance.

If it's a stock Chevy style starter, try tapping on the solenoid. Sometimes they just get bound up with crud in them. If that doesn't work, you should be able to replace just the solenoid from the local parts store. Remember, they aren't much more than a magnet.
