Has anybody had trouble using a bilstein 90/10 on the DW9 chassis. We bottom ours out and then it makes the car squirrely on corner entry. Looks like either the rearend mount point needs to move back about 1/2-3/4" or switch to an AFCO shock without the screw on heim.

Are you using a 7" (36 mm)or 9" (46 mm)shock? Also, is the pull bar bracket from DW or another kind?

It is the rearend they put in the car when it left their shop and im pretty sure its a 7" 46mm bilstein shock. Looks to me like an AFCO fixed end shock would help but not sure its enough.

Has anybody ran without a 90/10 shock. Or taken the shoick off and used a brake bar instead?

If it is the small yellow 7" I can't imagine why you would be having trouble. We actually run a bilstein 10/30 on ours, and that's if we run one at all. As long as it doesn't make you too loose in, you don't really need 'em.

Sorry, I should clarify. We run the 7" 36 mm shock, but it shouldn't make any difference if you run the 7" 46mm. I would recommend you take it off once just to see how you like runnning without it, most guys can't tell the difference. At least you'd know that was your problem.

No its the silver large diamter shock. I think if it werent for the screw on heim and jam nut there would be enough room not to bottom out. I checked and the compressed length of an AFCO is about 1" shorter heim to heim which would allow more travel forward before bottoming. The only trouble is we ran into some issues last year where on acceleration the shock would become fully extended and stop the rear from rotating back more. I mean its kind of a catch 22. You can move the hole to fix the bottoming of it but it screws with the full extension.

i ALWAYS run 2 90/10s to tighten up my car, but to keep them from bottoming out i put a soft rubber bumper on them to so it hits them and increases the rate of the 9010 but does not have a hard snap to it.

I would agree with de94wcc. Take it off and run without it in hotlaps. I didnt run one on my modified when I was driving them, and now I dont run one in my latemodel. It does free the rearend up some also.

i broke one once, and liked to take out half the field. not that bad, but it got loose in bad.
