rules say we have to run dish piston this year.. we need help with getting a strong motor. any info on this would be great.. we know nothing about getting a engine to be strong with dish pistons.any tricks out there? we run 350cu. 400 lift 4barr. carb. stock exh. rules.....stock head etc....

If there is no rule on how deep the dish must be, then I'd use a flat top and cut your own dish. Maybe a dish that is .010" deep and 2" around. After all a dish is a dish ;-)

Steve is right, cut your own dish.
then you can get the shape, depth & cc you want the dish to be.

I do it all the time in the mill, it takes a little time, but it's worth the effort.

Most engine builders have a good piston vise and mill & can do it for a responsible price.

And hey look at the bright side....you lose a little piston weight....well ok not much,but I had to say it

Probably the easiest thing to do is just get a set of heads from a 305 engine. The combustion chambers are smaller and will give you more compression.

well - what are the other rules?? small 49cc iron eagle heads come to mind - can be milled a bit for even more compression....
