Im thinking of building a 377.
I dont have to worry about clearance problems with a 5.7 rod do I?
Is it better to run a thicker bearing or run the spacer?Iv never built one, does the spacer couse the bearing to spin more easy?

Thanks
Glen

I run a standard base circle roller cam with .633 valve lift and SCAT 5.7 rods in my 377 - no clearance problems and there shouldn't be because of the shorter stroke of the 350 crank doesn't get the big ends of the rod that close to the cam.

I also run the spacer bearings and have known several others that run them with good luck - I spin 72-7400 with that engine and I've known others that run it in the upper 7k range or 8k with a little better cranks/rod/piston combo. Plus the bearings are a lot cheaper when it comes refresh time.

We've ran the spacer bearings in our 377 and never had a problem. I've got one for sale if your interested.
