Our Open Wheels are getting motor rules next year and I am going to have to build a new motor. Old rules were 1 carb, no nitrous/turbos or blowers, no dry sumps.
New rules are: Two bbl 4412 carb with choke tower, Edelbrock RPM intake, factory cast iorn heads - NO vortec or bowtie no grinding in the intake or heads 1.94/1.50, no roller cams, 50lb crank.
I am going to run flat top pistons and 462 heads that are angle milled for 11.5 to 1.
I am wondering what cam to use, my springs are good to .600 lift. I was just looking for ome suggestions on the cam as it is going to have an engine claim rule. I had a good cam but it is a custom grind that cost about $200 and I cannot see that on a claimer motor. Any suggestions on a cam? I was looking into a midwest or something like that. I am looking at a 6500-7000 rpm ceiling.

Call Isky, they have a circle track tech line that is very good.

Isky makes a nice flat tappet, grind no is 547a i think. That should be good for application.

We run midwest #9's in both our mods (355 & 383) with real good perfomance.
