Does anyone know about the vortec marine high rise intake. I need to use a cast iron intake and the ones I have seen so far are pretty flat. I hear mericruiser makes a high rise. Brzezinski is selling them but would hate to pay $400 for a cast iron intake.

PAW sells a 4bbl vortec intake, it is the same as the Brzezinski. When we were looking we were told GM never made a 4bbl intake for the vortec and the merc is not for the vortec it is for the heads before it and would not flowup to the vortec heads, it also has a merc casting number and not a chevy. The down side is if you tech man knows what he is looking at the PAW or Brzezinski is illegal if your rules only allow "STOCK" parts.

They are called Bowties, GM makes them in both alum and cast. there a little over 200.00 new but if you do some shoppin you can get one for about 100.00 to 125.00 used.you get them right from the GM dealership. They are great. sleepy

Just call or go visit you authorized G M dealer and ask for a Bowtie cast iron intake. and you can ask what it fits but it will fit the vortec head. sleepy
