After the last 2 races, I have checked the water the next day and there is almost a full gallon of water missing. Car runs 160 - 180 all night long. Gets to 200 max after the race and loaded up on the trailer. We haven't noticed water coming out of the overflow. Tried 2 caps, both were used though. Engine runs good and strong the whole time, oil looks great. 160* thermostat.

Thoughts? Get a new cap?

Cap first then a leak down test.

after you run one night pull all the plugs out and refill the rad and leave a pressure tester on it overnight. The next morning see if the presure is gone and if so stand back and have someone stand in front of the motor and see when you spin the motor over if water comes out the spark plug holes.
