Took my motor (core) apart yesterday... None of the head bolts had washers. Aren't they supposed to have washers?

I ask this because I recall the last motor I worked on had washers with the head bolts. This was an already put together race motor. Do stock motors have the washers? Do I need them? Can I put in regular grade 8 washers if I do?

Thanks,

APR sells bolts with washers. They are for spreading the torque load out and getting better torque readings.

Ego,

Would it make sense to use washers with my stock bolts?

No, you wont have enough thread in the block with washers added to stock bolts.
