This last weekend the car was running warm.... it ran from 220 to 240... I run stock felpro gaskets on 993 heads, just wanted to know if I should replace the head gaskets...thanks...

do a leak down test. are you sure it just wasn't some fluke deal like dirtin the radiator or timing got offor carb messed up? i would change the oil and cut open the filter also . as for tempwise 230 and i'm done mine runs 200-210 had it 220 once this year durring a 10 minute red flag once i got going again it dropped down to 210

My car takes an entire race to get to 170. However, I have ran one of my cars all season topping out at about 270 everynight. Had no problems with that motor, and did not change the head gaskets.

anything over 250 is very bad that is the point in which things start to warp and crack and do other funny things that they should not do

drive hard or drive home

250 wont hurt as long as you don't loose water! Anything over that & your asking for trouble!

I'd use the good felpro gaskets(1003-1004)they are expensive but worth it,they not only seal better but they have revised cooling holes that help the cooling issue..mine had the stock felpro's and the first time it hit 250 it blew, put on 1003's on and it runs cooler, and if it does get hot it won't blow the gasket.
