what all needs to be done to a set of 882 heads to get the most performance out of them on a 355 pop up motor.Also any cam suggestions.

get them ported and larger valves screw in studs the set that I am working on I have removed almost 5# of weight just from porting as for the cam mid west motor sports #8 and you will be happy

well, all sounds good except for the cam choice, everyone runs those cams, i would say call comp cams and tell them what you got going on. they will recommend a good one. if you use the same cam as everyone else you will run like everyone else. i bought a hardcore race cam from hardcore racing engines. TOLLFREE: 1-866-805-7388 its a special grind and comp grinds them. just something to think about. tell them ted gould sent you.

forgot to tell you.... hardcore has some really nice 993 and 882 heads ready to go with 2.055 intakes and 1.6 exhaust valves. really good price on them.

i would recommend 993's over 882's anyday
it is the same except the 993's are a truck casting so they don't crack as easy
i have a set of fully ported 993's and they are close to the set of dart 215's that i run now
the only difference that i notice is that it pulls harder in the upper rpm's with the darts

drive hard or drive home
