how much oil pressure did you have before the fresh up? could be a few things......too loose bearing clearances, galley plug missing or installed improperly, faulty guage or pinched line...

Do you run an oil bypass or do you have it blocked off?

did they check bearing clearances? maybe wrong bearings? standard bearings on a .010 crank will cause this... what about the galley plugs?

is it a ,A,B,R block. went from 50-60 psi to zero over night. found oil pump in the pan. replaced pump, had 25-30 psi until we craked the throttle than it dropped. checked the mains found to be fine, than we could not tighten them back up. found crack in the block from the main up to the oil galleys between the lifters. just one senario that we went through this year. this waas a standard production A block, B,R blocks are reinforced in the webs to combat this problem.

Its a "a" block and all clearance was on the money.. the block has restricters in it. and the maching shop said that it has enough oil pressure. but they sold out and are not in busness now

If nothing is wrong with the engine I have found that a melling racing oil pump will give me better oil psi compared to a normal HV pump. It has an adjustable by-pass spring and has differant cover over the pump gears. The cover has a hole in the middle and the inner pump gear has a "shaft" machined in it. This way both sides of the gear are supported. I don't remember the part number but it something like 10832.
