Having what I think is a carb issue. Realize that I'm on the engines for dummies program. Found a float issue today and got that fixed, and was hoping that it would cure my problem, but no. The engine will hesitate when I punch the accelator (in the garrage) for about a second, then start to rap out to around 6800, at which point it starts to kinda cough and sputter up to 7300(7400 pill will normaly hit 7500). When I let off it will sometimes blow fuel back out of the carb. Using the same jets on the same carb with the same engine that I ran all last year with no carb issues. Carb is a BG built Holley 750 4b. Have run only 2x's this year, hydro locked first time out (builder left head bolts loose) last week wouldn't run wide open, seemed to run better at 3/4 throttle. (thought that was the float thing) Car handles like it's on rails, if I could just get the engine running I'd be able to do something this year. Please help!
Oh yeah, running alky.
