Down on power and shooting blue flames out of both headers. Running a DUI distributor and a holly 350 cfm carb. Normally turn about 6700 rpm was only able to get 5500 out of it. Valve lash looks good, spark seems to be good, I am leaning toward the carb. Also all spark plugs are saturated with gas.

Any thoughts would help.

Thanks

Have you checked your timing if so it has to be in your carb even if your timing is off however you run yours it sounds like carb is having problems anyway.

Timing is set at 33 degrees, and the coil is new this season. Jets in the carb at 75's.

thats alot of jet for that carb. most holley 500's run in the mid 70's. we run about a 65-67 in the 350 carb.

I'd look at the power valve. The flames on decelleration are a pretty good indicator the idle transfer slot's aren't metering fuel well enough. Down on power might be the over rich condition but I hesitate to say so because ot should go away when the RPM come up.

Found that the four bolts that hold the coil in the distributor were completely out. The coil had to be bouncing around causing some loss in spark. All but two of the plugs looked to be fouled.

Stockcar5,

Your able to keep the motor cool with jets that small? I would like to run smaller jets but am afraid of cooling issues.
