I just found 2 broken studs when I pulled a valvecover on my engine.

It has the stock studs "per the rules" & a hydraulic 410 lift cam with 230 @ 50 & I am using the comp cams 941 springs.

Are these too much pressure for stock studs or should I be looking at a different problem?

the engine runs around 6200-6400 rpm & its a small block chevy.

i agree. that spring is a little stiff for a small hydraulic.

Ok guys I will try a softer spring.

The cam is a racing lift rule cam & the springs were picked by the engine builder with the recommendation from the cam maker.

the engine tops out about 6400.... tried that already with the wrong gear choice..... No Valve float.. just quits pulling.

thanks for the help!
