was reading thru my rules today and it doesn't say anything about running a stock roller cam it just says engine has to be stock with hydrolic cam. so my question is where should i look for one ?also what type of lifters do they use are they justlike stock lifters or do they use roller lifters as well

The Chevys that came with a stock roller had
a special block to accept the roller lifters. I think all the later model blocks
are the same whether they came with one or
not. If you get one, make sure it has a place to mount a fuel pump, I have a roller
vortec block that has the mount boss, but it's not drilled for the shaft or the bolts.

I ran one out of a 90 Caprice Classic cop car.It had factory rollers that turned well up to 6500 with stock springs! It also had a special lightweight piston that if I remember right they were expensive.

Bought the motor we had for $100 out of a police car graveyard!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine what my face looked like when the intake came off and found a roller cam! Hey chomme...Did you weigh the stock pistons in yours? We broke the top ring land on the four middle pistons so top ring gap needs attention. Also the reason we quit running the motor is it cracked in the lifter valley so be careful with water temps. Well worth the money in stock form in my opinion!
