Do you build a complete new engine every season? And how much does it cost for parts to build it?

Also, how many horse power does a pro stock engine have?

can't answer the 2nd part unless we know the rules for your track a pro stock here is a bomber there and a limited latemodel somewhere else as for the motor i just put a re-ring kit in every year and replace oil pump, timing chain and valve springs cost me about 250-300

I live in New York, we call them pro stocks. A young kid would probably say they look like Nascar Stock cars on dirt. We have 2 classes- Rookie and Expert pro stocks, the experts run a little bit faster. Thanks for your feed back.

Rebuilds depend on the season, how many nights or laps. Whether there were any out of the ordinary nights that might have hurt something inside the motor, and how well the motor was built to start with,(aftermarket vs/ stock parts etc) Generally we will run 25-30 nights or 1000 laps before rebuilding our mod motors, but have stretched that as well. I know some guys that have gone 40-45 without problems if well taken care of. Keep it from overheating, change oil/filter regularly, keep a good air cleaner on it and keep the breathers clean and it will last a long time.
