building a new motor for stock 4....can the stock crank be lightened if so how much and which flywheel and balancer are best to use?

It can be lightened at least 3 pounds BUT they will also break if not done right. Use a "power pulley" from esslinger. As far as the flywheel, we're restricted to a 8.5 inch stock flywheel weighing 24 pounds counting clutch,and press plate and bolts. I would use the goldstar from race engineering if allowed to. A good standard crand will turn 8000+ if balanced right. If you're looking for power put your time and money in the head and cam. That's where it is on a 2300!
