I heard if you put 305 heads on a 350 it will add horsepower. Can somebody give me some info. on this? thanks

Yes it will add compression. They are 58cc heads and the stock 350s are 64cc or 76cc. Also the runner size is smaller. So really depends on what your looking for. Low end torque and horse power or high end.

thats right you will gain ompression but the loss of flow kills you unless you do some serious work tothem think you would be better off shaving down a set of open chamber heads and decking the block would give you a little compression boost and not lose the flow

305 heads used to be the "hot" ticket on very restricted classes around here. If you're allowed to run double humps, or even older "smog" heads, do so. The flow numbers on 305's vs. about anything else are significant. And yes, some so-called 305 heads were put on 350's at the factory. There are lots of ways to make more power with factory parts than using 305 heads.
