I saw the whole discussion about the CAT rods and was wondering if the prowler rods that Dirttrackthunder.com has are better? Anyone have any experience with them? Anything about quality?

Thanks,

dirtbandit

they are nice,

almost look polished on the beams,

are weight matched

they are nicer than scat, no kidding if your talking the i beam stock appearing type..

they are even cheaper from competition products I think 160.00 pressed, 180 floated

I just bought a set of 4340 Bushed "I-Beam" rods from Ohio Crankshaft for $169.00 They have ads in NHRA National Dragster. They have ARP bolts. Anyone ever use them or know anything about the quality?

I got a set of 5140 prowler rods from Ditrtrack Thunder. They really looked great, my machine shop was quite impressed with them too. Then I told them how much I paid for them, and he wanted to know where I got them.I would have to recomend these for a great value and quality products. From what I have heard about cat products, ummm..., I guess you get what you pay for.

Rechecked the ad I ordered from. 4340 I-BEAM STREET & STRIP RODS. "There are several similar appearing, generic rods on the market, BUT they are not 4340 material, or do not have ARP bolts or are not finished in the US on modern diamond hones" (as quoted in the ad) #I5700B SBC 5.700 bushed with 3/8 bolts. OHIO CRANKSHAFT (800)333-7113
I hope they are not lying to me??

Just saw them on the Ohio Crankshaft web site...they look to be great for the price. The web site is www.ohiocrank.com and then go to connecting rods.
