We are running a 350 w/305 heads. We put a different distributor and a different carb on and now we cannot get over 4200 and the motor is labering hard. We took the distributor out and I noticed the gear on the ditributor is worn really bad. It was not that way when went in. We also was running the cam at a 4 degree advance and Speedway recommended we put it back straight up. I need help. Never have run across this before. This motor ran really good last year. Any ideas? I'm all ears.

Can't get over 4200? I come off the turns at 4500!!
I'd check into the oil thing. 4 degrees isn't going to make 2000 rpm difference in powerband. 200 maybe.. but not 2000. Even a stock cam will run to 4500-5000 with headers and intake.
Did it just all at once lose power or never had any?
