O.K. Finally got to trying to start my engine today. I found out I put the wrong gasket in and it was leaking, fixed that, but when I took it apart, there was no fuel between the fuel pump and the carb. Realize I only cranked it with the starter a bit, but it never ran. My question is do I need to prime the pump and fuel line or will it come up when it runs?

I've had pumps that sat for a while have the valves dry up and don't want to pump. I always pull the fuel line at the carb and use a small funnel to fill the line and the pump this seems to help it start pumping. Also use the small funnel to fill the float bowls before firing a new motor. Hope this helps.
