I've never had them line up either. Shim the bottom pulley out to match the upper with some washers and don't worry about it.

There's 2 short water pumps. The 'vette version is 1/8" longer than the other. I think the 'short-short' pump is 5.62" and the 'long-short' pump is 5.75" from block mating surface to fan pulley surface.

Speedway sells crank pulley shims. Just put one on my new motor. I believe it's about .090" thick. Lined 'em up perfect. I'm using a new water pump, pulleys, and pwr. steering pump.

Me personally ....... put a socket,I like a 3/4 12point myself .......put that over the water pump shaft and give it a little nudge with the hammer....... THIS PART IS PRESSED ONTO THE WATER PUMP SHAFT AND CAN BE ADJUSTED........

To be adjusted properly the pump SHOULD be taken apart.........I KNOW...... but i'm lazy and do it this way without ever having a problem. If you needed to pull out the fan pulley mount you can use a bearing puller .....

You should make sure after bolting the fan on it spins TRUE........not wobble-wobble..
