Author Topic:   header temp variation?
posted May 06, 2004 08:09 PM
Started new motor up for cam break-in. 2200-2500 rpm. During break-in we used a IR Pyrometer to check header temps. Cylinders 1 2 and 8 were 200 degrees cooler than 3 4 5 & 6. 7 was only 50 degrees cooler. I don't remember this much variation on our last engine. Would this raise a flag in your shops or would you just keep on trucking. I might be a little paranoid. At what temperature should I be worried and how much variation from cylinder to cyliner should concern me?
