I HAVE A 350 BORED 30 OVER AND I HAVE A CAM HERE, AND WAS WONDERING IF IT WOULD WORK IN THIS MOTER. I WILL RUN 3/8 AND 1/4 MILE TRACKS MAINLY. LIFT RULE IS .450 MAX AT ROCKER. THE CAM HAS THESE FIGURES. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A 350HP 327 CAM.

.447 LIFT
291 DURATION
114 LOBE SEPERATION

ONE GUY TOLD ME IT WOULD WORK IF I ADVANCE THE CAM 4 DEGREES, BUT I WANT MORE ADVICE ON IF IT WILL WORK. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

IF IT MATTERS I HAVE TO RUN ROCHESTER 2 BARREL, STOCK EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, TURBO 350, AND I HAVE 2 1/4 INCH PIPES 60" LONG EACH ON THE CAR.

It would work, but is probably not the best fit. Need more info to really advise (CR, carb, exhaust system etc)

If it's a stock replacement 350hp 327 cam, it's basically a 40 year old design. There's plenty of new cam offerings with more modern profiles that would make more HP. Even with the same lift and sep specs, a newer design cam could have 20 degrees more duration at .050" lift. Some of the newer profiles even look the same at .050" as a cam made 10-15 years ago but have more duration at .200" lift that also gives more 'area under the curve'.

So, short answer, yes it will physically fit and make the motor run. But no, I wouldn't use it. Just my opinion though.

I agree with raz. Cam technology has come a long way and there are simply better grinds out there now.
