For enduro racing he doesnt need a 350. Heck, he could probably get by with a 6 cylinder if he wanted too.

And dont knock the 305. It's not as bad an engine as people think. I threw one in one time and suprised the **** out of me. Not as good as a 350 but not far behind.

personaly i wouldn't even have bothered sending it to a machine shop a good re ring kit and new bearings and an rv cam will go a long way

Be sure the machine shop is familiar with the block you're using. Most of the 305's were cast pretty thin, and can't be bored out too far.

My guess is that the block isn't wore out. Those things wear like iron. If its wore throw it away.

Maybe he is on a real tight budget and can't get a 350 guys....if your running the 305, don't spend a whole lot of $$ on it. Hopefully you don't have to bore,just overhaul it with a cam kit and go...

you can build a 350 cheaper than a 305. rings and pistons are cheaper.
