They are great. The paper that come with them didn't recomend running them on a 400.

Which heads are they? Is it because the steam holes aren't drilled??

What runner CC were the heads? I was thinking of a flat-top 406 with the 50cc chambered 235cc intake runner pro heads... If they don't recomend it then I've got to figure why or decide on another combo...

They were 200cc Intake runners. You might give them a call. Like I said I don't know the reason, just what I read.

50cc heads on a flat top 406 gives around 13.5-14.0:1 CR. It's probably them trying to CYA for the people that blow their motors to pieces on 94 octane pump gas.

14:1 is gettin' up there and will need some pretty good fuel, timing, sparkplug and carb setup though. Not for the faint of heart.

If you run a flat top or dished pistons you can get away with lower octane. We have run a dished 13:1 on 94 and it even got hot when the front got closed off and had no problems.
But I do think it may be a CYA thing, just like alot of them say not to run NOS in a drag car.

I'm going to be running it on alcohol FWIW - figure the 13.5-14:1 is right about where I want to be with alcohol... Plus I can run a deeper valve relief piston or even one with the dual valve reliefs without worrying about loosing compression too much.

waltonjr1 - let us all know what you find out!
