ive been trying to prime my pontiac but cant get oil to all the rockers. now, ive had times when i couldnt get a couple to oil. but on this motor i cant get oil to any rockers on the right side. last night when priming for about 30 mins. i got all the left side and the front 3 on the right side to oil. it got late so i had to stop. this morning i tried again but couldnt get oil to the right side at all. ive tried turning the motor over all pushrods are clean and ive used 20/50 and 5/20 oil. ive also changed the filter. i know that for chevts you have to use an old distributor as a priming tool so you dont get an " internal oil leak" but ive been told that isnt the case with pontiac. im using the same priming tool ive used on 5 other pontiacs. any ideas?????

From running Pontiacs years ago I had to loosen the rocker arms to get them to pump up. With the bolts tightened it kept the lifters collapsed and bleeding off before it would send oil up the pushrods. Maybe worth a shot anyway. Hope it helps, Good luck.

Are you turning the motor a little bit now and then? I believe there are oil passages in the lifter valley to the lifters that dont always flow oil depending on how everything is aligned.
