I have been having an on going problem with endplay... I can move the crank in and out by hand, I measured it and it was about .007 . I had this same problem last year but it was about .025 sent the motor back to the machine shop and he rebuilt it(again) ran it for two races and the endplay was back, I could move the crank by hand.... I did not measure it, I just sent it back, he told me it was in tolerance, but he put in a new thrust bearing, I have only ran two races since, nothing really seems wrong motor runs good, just makes me nervous, what should endplay be and can anyone else move theirs without using a prybar?

7 thousands is nothing to worry about. When the bottom end is clearanced right and the line bore is straight, you can move it by hand.

Nothing wrong with .007" endplay. But the .025" you had last year is way too much. Or did you mean .0025"?

Be sure to check throwout bearing is not too tight, pushing clutch and flywheel forward all the time. This will wear out thrust bearing. Assuming of course you're runnin a clutch setup.
