Anybody balance thier own engines?... maybe not for you guys with expensive stuff.. but what about bomber motors?

This is just weight matching components. Good rods and pistons will be weight matched within a couple grams from the factory.

This doesn't adress bobweight of the crankshaft at all.

If you know the bobweight of the crankshaft and want to balance your setup down to match this would be an excellent budget bomber balance method. I'd say it couldn't even hurt if you weren't going to do a balance no matter what, but it's definately not a replacement for a 'real' spin balance.

I have weight matched the internals befor for a figure 8 car did real well but it was not wide open all nightlong we were on and off the throttle the engine would holdup for 5 years but again nothing beats the real ballence itis worth the money

I run a 4cyl Ford and always balance our own rods and pistons then get the crank balanced by somebody else since an inline 4 doesn't take bobweights the balance costs a grand total of 50 bucks.
