blew a head gasket and fire sloted the block and head between 3 and 5 cyl, can this be fixed

I did the same thing years ago and had both of them fixed with many more races on them....still have the block and the heads sold with a car i had and still work great. I took them to a shop that welds cast iron....heat the whole head befor welding.....just a side note make sure you replace the seats afterwards.....it kinda makes a mess when they come out!!!

We did the same thing at playday two weeks ago the machine shop I use welded both the block and head back up for me and they look like new. They said not to worry about it the weld is actually stronger than the cast. The head was $90 and block was $120 to fix expensive mistake of running to lean on alchy. Hope this helps.

i had mine done at a shop and they did some kind of "spray" welding. dont know what it is but it was perfect when done. gonna run the motor some more this year.

i think it cost me 200 to do both the head and the block (brand new dart head of course!)
