i just bought a short block and it has titanium rods in it. does any one know anything about them? like cap bolt torque specs and things like that.

Oh yea, they are junk.. you had better send them to me. I have just the place for them.
Just for curiosity sake, did you know it had these rods in it when you bought the shortblock? and did you pay a titanium equiped shortblock price?

got it from a sprint car guy in indy and it just came from the engine shop. everything checked out good just needs new bearings. 1000 bucks. for ross pistons, 4340 crank, 400 block, and big block oil pump. great find

sdhnc29 i was told they were jet rods. have not tore down to see if there stamped with a name.

regardless, you got a smokin deal.. take care of em and keep an eye on everything, the replacement cost would scare the **** out of ya...lol

Steve, I don't know, and would also be curious .........any different clearances on these rods?

like more side clearance? like a aluminum rod???? or bearing clearance and pin them??

Never messed with them myself, just thinking out load.

I'd call crower and talk to them. I'd say they made them and have the specs you need. Guessing I'd say they're worth around 5 - 6 grand. Good find.
