Valve springs should be checked with an on-car spring tester after each night of racing, along with valve lash. This should be a ritual in regards to maintenance on your engine. Valve springs are a week link, and an engine builders nightmare. There is absolutely no way to predict their life span. Even with the most expensive springs, you might get one bad one in a set. So make sure your preventative maintenance is up to par, and you'll soon have your own record of spring life with your particular engine combo and spring brand.

We use spring oilers on every dirt late model engine that we build. Your valve spring life will increase dramatically!!

Thanks, Steve! I was planning on checking them after every race. I also might look into getting some of the coated springs and seeing what difference those make.

Thanks! Chad
