What is a reasonable price for freshening up a 355 claimer, double hump engine?

depends on what you have in it every year i spend 75 on a re ring kit buy new timing chain and oil pimp and valve springs and seals look'n around 200 or so but i do everything myself might want to throw in a quick trip to the machine shop for a bath,crack check ,cam bearings and check the bores also maybe a valve job your look'n another 250 or so there

I just freshened a 355 and it cost me close to 300.00. I also do almost everythig myself.It is a lot of work,but you know exactly what you have in it.

Felpro Perf. gaskets = $100
Federal Mogul HP bearings = $100
Moly rings (5/64) = $40
Oil Pump = $25
Timing Chain = $40

So around $300 in parts is about right. Shop work can be several hundred for clean, crack check, hone, deck etc.
