Anyone have anything to say about the horizontal or the vertical ones. what about a certain brand that is not good? Thanks, Craig Moore

Run a solid lift cam and the lifters that oil the cam/lifter face and no restrictors. I have had two different roller lifters come apart from different mfg's. I have not had a solid lifter have this problem.

crower are the best, lunati and comp cams are good. i like the vertical bars. too much hardware with the spring loaded horizontal bars to suit me. if you ever run a roller, you'll never want to run another flat tappet cam again.

Crower or Jessel are the best. The Jessels would be too expensive though for the average racer. Sorry outlawstock17 , but I'll have to disagree on the Comp roller lifter's. They are probably the worst on the market next to the Chinese off-brand lifters. Comps are known throughout the industry as being junk. In fact, most engine builders who use Comp cams wont even use them. They have a bad problem with axle failures.

no apology neccesary, steve. i've only used the comp rollers on one engine and i had good luck with them....ran the engine 2 seasons and sold it....don't know what happened after that. i'm using crowers right now, but they are also known to fail.

i have a spare set of crowers i bought used from a nascar truck team and they have a pair of lifters from another set. they are numbered and it has 2 pairs of lifters with the same number....i can only assume there was a failure...

Comp was one of them but I cannot recall the other, It was not a cheap set though.
