The big bore, short stroke motor will have more on the top end and a little less at lower revs. The 353 would take better to larger valves (over 2.02/1.6) where the 355 wouldn't.

If you plan on wringing it's neck (over 6500rpm most of the time) the 353 is the way to go. If you're looking for more midrange/off the turns the 355 would be just fine.

Geared correctly, the 353 is a hard combination to beat. Just gear it a couple hundred rpm higher than a 355.

thanx Raz 900, so you think a 6.00 gear with a Bert Tranny will do with a 353?
