Thanks for the reply...what do you think a stock 350 would make?

A stock rebuilt 350 with stock cam and exhaust, intake and carb, prob around 200 depending on carb and exhaust.

A lot of variables here though..

I bought a stock crate motor 4 or 5 years ago and GM said it was 235 HP.

UFna,

Thats kind of what i was basing my number on because the numbers they quote on their crates i beleive are with headers and aluminum intake and 4 barrel.

There is a difference between the stock crate motor and their 'circle track' crate motor. Thats why there is such a large difference in HP.

the crate mentioned I believe is the votec head 388 with a hyd roller cam. they race that motor in late models at irwindale in calif.

so far 2 failures in 3 years, both were from over revving the motor...

imagine buying a crate motor for 3500, running it for a season, selling it for 2500 to someone who wants to save a grand and your whole engine program cost you 1000 a year... sure wish it would work around here in any class, Id switch classes in a heartbeat.
