what to run 383 5.7 rod or 383 6.0 rod .piston flat or dome camshaft is flat tappit imca mod engine let see what this brings thanks rockit

you'd be better off going with a shorter stroke big bore motor, but if you are set on building a 383 put a 6.125 rod on that 3.75" stroke crank to have a rod/stroke ratio of 1.63.....most high end engine builders like to see a rod/stroke ratio of 1.8 or 1.9. The 6.125 rod is the longest you can reliably fit on a std. 9" deck and still have a 1" comp height piston.

can you get a 6.125 rod cheap like around 300.00 and what piston do have to run

SCAT does make a 6.125 H-beam 4340 rod for $359 from www.flatlanderracing.com As far as piston I believe SRP makes a off the shelf piston that will work for this combo....probably around $400 for the pistons.

eagle makes their sir i beam rods in 6.125 and 6.2. they are lightweight and about 200$ or so per set.
