Hi all
Just wondered what the pros & cons are for the Dart cast iron big block Chevy block. Is there anything that you must watch out for or do to them prior to assembly? This is for a normaly aspirated stock length rod engine.
Thanks.
Marty.

I'm assuming the big blocks require the same machine prep work as their small blocks. You'll need it decked, final hone cylinder walls, and hone lifter bores.

Make sure you check the main bore's Marty. I've had a few come through that were .0005"-.0007" tight. Other than that, everything that 2nd2none said is right on. the only "con" to the Dart block is the weight. The "pro" is that you will never in 100 years break one in your application.
