I have a question. I came across a set of lt1 exhaust manifolds from 94-96 impala/camaro/caprice and heard that they flow much better than a stock set. They are the ones that go up and around like a ram horn. I was wondering if this is true, or what anyone knows of these. They measure 2", where my manifolds now are at 2 1/4" Also I have the problem that one bolt hole on each does not line up and would have to be redrilled I would imagine. I'm wondering if they are worth the trouble or not?

thanks

I've heard they work well but you need to really hog them out tho,i've got a set i'm going to try myself,oh the extra bolt hole only fits the newer type heads i think you just leave it out.

I think I'm gonna give them a try. I am in the process of hogging them out now. I think I'm gonna just try to extend the hole offset deal. I would rather at least have one in there rather than none at all.

If nothing else they will get alot of people talking at the track. I just hope they aren't too much trouble getting in the way of the valve covers. They run right up to the valve cover.... could be a problem.

Anyone know from experiance on these......??

We ran the style you are talking about and they worked pretty good except they got red hot easy because they are a lot lighter than the underslung log type. No we were not running lean, we kept checking the plugs and never burnt a piston. Use the thick valve cover gaskets and we used header gaskets as an insulater. The only problem was the dip stick tube. We had to plug the tube hole and pull the manifold off to check the oil because these manifolds were made for the passenger side dip sticks.

Forgot to tell ya, go to www.castheads.com for more info, they say the under slung log type is the best to use if you can't the center dump corvette manifolds.
