what all is done when degreeing a cam .by the manufactors cam sheet? is open and closing points about all u can do ?and also when installing the cam buttons how do u do this ? drill out the hole in the timing gear? and what holds the button from moving once installed?any info. would help this begginer. thanks

Not very sharp on degreeing ,but the cam button fits in the hole in the gear & the shoulder of the bolts hold it in. No drilling required.

Go to comp cams website,you will find everything you need to know on there.You can check everything on the card.I just check the centerline,if that matches everything else should be right.

Id also reccomend running a cam bolt retainer plate which will make sure the bolts wont loosen as well as hold the button inplace. And they are right the best way to understand degreeing is to check out the websites and read them over and over until it makes sense. Better than someone trying to explain it to you.
