We are building a new car for next year.
We have two sets of headers and I can't remember the pros and cons of short tubes versus long tube headers.
Which one gives what advantage?
The new car has the motor set back so clearance is no more an issue.

I believe short tubes help top end while sacrificing a little low end. Long tubes work better in the low end & midrange and nearly as good on top. The shorties are just easier ot fit.

What kind of motor have you got? What size are the tubes diameters? 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" or something else?

The design of the header also affects how it performs. If it's a 4 into 1 collector or something like a Tri-Y will make a slight difference.

As I understand it, it's the collector that influences lower rpm torque more so than the individual length. I may be wrong though.
