have a 89 302 ho motor with a stock roller cam.Wanting to run 289 rods with a 302 crank any tips on how much i'll have to mill my pistons down,and will stock forged pistons hold out.

you're going to like that combination. i've ran it several times. mock up the assembly with a stock type piston, measure how far it sticks out of the deck and have that much clipped off the top of the piston. usually about .047"-.050" needs to be removed. i've taken as much as .055" off a speedpro hypereutectic. zero deck it. you may have to re-notch the pistons for valve relief. don't know about the stock forged pistons.....it depends on where the top ring is located.

wizzard, boss pistons won't work with a windsor head. i believe they have a dome for a cleveland head.

you can get them with the dome or flat top i bought some flats about7 years ago cant remember what brand tho mabe steve would know where to get'em
