Can you take a large journal small block (3.48) stroke chevy crankshaft (2.10)diameter and have the rod journals machined to a small journal (2.0)diameter. If yes, how much should I expect to pay? If no, why not? thanks for any info.

Yes you can . A race crank can be a little expensive to do properly with grinding and re-nitriting . Around $350.00-$400.00 to do this . You can do this to a stock crank also , but you need to double check the position of the rod journal oil holes when finished . You'll probably pay in the $150.00 range for a stock crank to be ground down to 2.000" .In any case you want to be sure that if you have a crank done this way , the crank grinder leaves a large radius in the rod journal for strength .
