My friend just put in a new stock 350 in his truck and used the old carb with all the electrical hookups onit when you go to open the four barrel sometimes it pops through the carb if you hold it down it seems like its starving for gas (hesatates). any suggestions i would think it was a lope worn off the intake side of the cam but its a new motor. Would the carb make it do that??

Ck the timing. Also, pull the valve covers and check to make sure rockers are working. Just because it new doesn't mean the cam didn't get chewed up. Just a few thoughts. How did the carb act before? Hope this helps. Race

truck runs great until you open the four barrell not sure on the carb before because the carb had been setting up for a few years.

That's a lean pop. The carb needs to be rebuilt as probably the secondary fuel wells are full of junk.
The other common thing that can happen is the secondary fuel feed tubes can fall out.
Remove the top of the carb and there SHOULD be 4 brass tubes sticking down from the underside of the top of the carb. the two outer ones sometimes fall out.

Definitely, tho, it's not feeding any fuel to the secondary side of the carb.

Hope that helps,
KP

check the firing order of the plug wires .it's easy to get the 6 and 8 wires backward

If it's a quad-junk through it away.
