Our track is changing to a cubic inch limit on the bomber class. Not sure to answer the question I have been ask. Some guys are wondering if the 337 combo of a 305 punched .060 with a four hundred crank would work better than a solid 350. Has anyone tried this before. I noticed Keith Black sells pistons for this but I have not found info on this combo. Any feedback would be appreciated. P.S. I think the over abundance of 305 blocks has also sparked this interest

I would think personally that the 337 would not breathe as well as a 350 at higher revs due to the smaller bore size shrouding the vavles more. I think it would still be hard to beat a good 350 based engine.

dirtbuster is correct . Basically you would end up producing decent low end torque . Unfortunately this torque would rise like a rocket , and fall like rock . In other words your torque band would end up being very short , and top end power would not be good as dirtbuster stated . The opposite of what you want from a race engine .
