I have a 500 carb that has no venturies in it, the fuel is pulled thru a bunch of holes around the inside of the barrels. anyone seen this and if so, what is it?

i think you mean "no boosters"......the venturi is the "cylinder itself". i think they are referred to as an "aerosol" carb.....supposed to flow more without the restriction of the boosters.

I have seen them before. Do you want to sell it by any chance?

That's a Holley 6425, 650 cfm. About half of them have a bad stumble between 3000-4000 rpm's. If you get a good one, tho, look out! Ship it to KP and have him work it over.

They're also illegal in most street classes around here.

I just ran one in our last race of the season. It wouldn't rur over 5000. I took it off and put my 500 back on. It may have just been set-up for something else. But, we wanted to try it out. We run some tracks that only allow 2 barrels and vaccum 4 barrels. I still might buy it and have it rebuilt. Or I might jsut get a vaccum 4 barrel and have it built up.

I've got one of these also. Your right about there not being much info out there for this carb. I think they came on International industrial type engines. Mine came off an International powered school bus. I switched to mods before I had a chance to play with it.

We ran this thing on a 2300 4cyl mini stock this weekend.worked pretty well, up to 7400 rpm, other then its probably a little rich for the little 4 banger, didnt try to jet it down, just wanted to try it and see how it worked, I would probably be interested in trading for a regular 500 holley if anyone is interested, this carb came on a 383 small block I traded for, and should have jetted down for the 4 cyl, but ran well with no stumbles or hesitation under wide open throttle, just kind of loaded up under yellow.
