I am new to chevy motors and I am wondering about the straight or angled spark plugs.

1. Is this for header clearance?
2. Is there any advantage HP wise between the two?

Thanks Chris

GM did extensive testing on straight versus angle plug heads and reported that there were no significant power differences. Power improvements have come from the location of the plug and improved combustion chamber design, not the angle of the plug. Many tracks may not allow angle plug heads for lower classes (mine doesn't). Sometimes they can create headaches for wires around headers, sometimes they work out better.

angles are nice for plug clearance on dome pistons.

you need headers made to clear angle plugs.
