I hear this curious 'pap' 'pap' pap' 'pap' as the chevvy engined cars pass by on the straight. It sounds like a miss, but it's not. The engines are running fine.
It's on the stock engines mostly. No difference in the cars with headers or just cutoff header pipes and stock manifolds.
Who knows what the reason for the out of sinc noise is. Just the Chevvy's, not Fords or Mopars.

If this happens mostly coming off the corner it is likely to be a form of traction control using a stutter box. I first heard these some years ago and they made the motor sound like it was missing, but the 'missing' was too regular for a good running car. A bit crude by today's standards. SLEEPY

Thanks guys. Sleepy, I dont think that's the answer. These guys are not that sophistocated up here. I put this question on a couple other forums though, and the "Traction control" answer came up on both of them. I'll talk to my closest racer sometime in the next couple of days. His engine lost a cylinder on the last race of the season. I'm just curious enough to go chat with him about it. I'll get back to you.
