i run a soild lift cam with stock oil pump.
where do they go and can you put them in without taken the motor out.
An can this make you run hot with out the restrictors in.

They replace the rear galley plugs above the cam, in back of the block. You will have to remove the bellhousing at least. It won't have an effect on cooling. Just remember to take 'em out and put galley plugs back in if you go to a hydrastic(hydraulic)(lol) cam.

Don't forget that oil is a valve spring's best friend. That reduction in oil flow over the springs can reduce the cooling effect the oil has.

I run the restrictors with stock rockers and Z-28 springs, I haven't had a problem with the heat on the springs and rockers, been doing it for 6 years. But I only run 12 lap features, I can see where it would be a problem in a longer race.

I use full-on extruded roller rockers, 1.46 dual springs, 10 degree retainers and locks, 7/16 studs, and all the tricks my engine builder can throw at my heads, so stock set-ups I can't help you with. I can see where lack of oil to the topside would be detrimental to stock rockers and Z28 springs.

don't bother nothing to gain but more work we run a full on 358 dirt modified only use stacks in lifter valley no restrictors.
