have yall had any problems with com cams breaking? lost my motor sat night. i don't know if the cam broke and hit the rods or the rod broke and hit the cam but i had cam coming out of the back of the block (the end of the cam anyway)$800 worth of rods down the tube(and the block, and the crank, and the oil pan,and the pistons, even busted most of the lifters).i've heard that coms. are bad about doing that.i still coasted to 3Rd place

i have never heard of a cam breaking on it's own if i was a betting man my money would be on bottom end failure before cam failure

ive ran the same comp cam for two yrs and never a problem. grenaded the engine a few weeks ago because of bad machine shop work(all the piston pins started coming out and two did). the comp cam and lifters are the only thing that was salvagable.
